Though I am Wiccan, it seems to me that you do not need to be pagan to believe in the world of the psychic. When I was in middle school, my parents bought me a beat up book at a garage sale. It was called "Tele-cult Power!" and I read it from cover to cover in the first day. At the time I was going through one of those "interested in the occult" phases (as my teachers used to call them) and I loved the possibilities that the book brought up. I already knew about telepathy and other powers of the mind, but here was a book that not only talked about them, but also told you how to do it.

I rushed over to my friends who had been interested in the same ideas, and we began practicing. Now I'm not going to say that I instantly began to read my friends minds, but there were indeed sporadic instants where we were sure that we were communicating. I began to practice, and found that couldn't hear voices in my head, but if my friends visualized writing the message in a neon blue script, sometimes I got the message!

I was stunned, but my crafty friends formulated an idea. We could prove that there really was a communication, and help one of them pass a class at the same time. Now I admit that there was an ethical conflict here, but it was important to me that I know.

Here we were, in my algebra class. My friend Albert was utterly hopeless at the subject, and constantly failed the tests, but I seemed to grasp it well. So we agreed before the test that I would try to telepathically send the answers to him. We both forced ourselves to relax, and the test began.

I swear, by all that is just in this universe, it worked. Albert passed the test with an A-. The scary, yet exciting part was that he had gotten the exact same problem wrong as me, and made the exact mistake. Our teacher said she could have sworn we had copied each other's papers, if it hadn't been for the fact that we were seated on opposite sides of the room.

So, yes, I believe that there are phenomenon out there.
